Barkestone Beetroot Belter | Beetroot & Ginger Chutney
Lincolnshire in the past used to be one the largest growers of beetroot in the UK. Living in the county next door, this inspired us to bring back the great taste of beetroot to the British public.
Barkestone is set amid gentle hills and crop-growing fields, with woods nearby. The Grantham canal runs through the village, which is accessed by narrow roads. On visiting Barkestone you are on the borders of three counties - Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire - but the Vale has a character all its own, as if it were a county in its own right. From a high spot, the fields and hedgerows spread out as breathtakingly as any landscape artist could wish, Beet fields included. Which why our Beetroot Belter chutney has been linked to Barkestone.
